Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) was formally established in Beijing on May 16, 1991 as a nationwide academic association which was united with 27 materials branches from influential societies under the organization of China Association for Science and Technology. C-MRS aims to promote exchanges and cooperation on the frontier of material science and technology and new materials development.

Membership

With 156,000 official members in China, Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania and 516 corporate members, who are from universities, institutions, enterprises, and overseas institutions, CMRS has become the largest society in the field of materials in the world, and one of the most influential and largest societies in China. Members of C-MRS have nearly 300 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and overseas.

Branch Societies

C-MRS has 58 branch societies until now. The subordinate and important organizations including C-MRS New Materials Industry Association, Belt and Road International new Material Cooperation Organization and New Materials Development Strategy Research Institution have made outstanding contributions in application, internationalization and popularization of new materials. C-MRS New Materials Industry Association are formed by a hundred of corporate members of international enterprises, listed companies and large stateowned enterprises and is a representative association for the development of Chinese new materials industry.

Conference

To promote academic exchanges and interaction among researchers and industry, C-MRS holds a number of conferences each year including World Materials Conference, Chinese Materials Conference, Chinese Advanced Materials Industry Development Conference, Chinese Advanced Materials Technology Application Conference, Chinese Advanced Materials Investment Conference, Chinese Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Conference, Chinese Materials Education Conference, World Energy Materials Conference, International Information Materials Conference, China Renewable Materials Conference, Materials Power Forum (private meeting), Belt and Road Highlevel Industrial Chain Security (Series) Conference, Special Conference on Strengthening National Strategic Scientific and Technological Forces, Top Talents Supporting Conference. Our branch societies also hold nearly 100 academic conferences each year.Chinese Materials Conference (CMC), as the largest conference of C-MRS, has more than 25,000 material science and technology workers from China and other countries who carried out deep academic exchanges concentrating on over 80 symposiums in advanced materials field.

Publications

For the publications, C-MRS hosts and cohosts 14 academic journals. Moreover, four strategic brand reports: China's New Materials Research Frontier Report, China's New Materials Industry Development Report, China's New Materials Technology Application Report, China's New Materials Science Popularization Report, are published each year. C-MRS is a national think tank and undertakes the task of new materials development strategy research from related Chinese government so we provide the research results to the relevant government.C-MRS is one of founding adhering bodies of IUMRS and is the only Chinese representative society in IUMRS. Three presidents of IUMRS have been elected from C-MRS.

Awards

C-MRS sets up a number of awards to those researchers who have made great contributions and provides services including quality certification, standard formulation and technology evaluation.
