The Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) is now seeking symposium proposals for the 3rd WMC, 9th WMS, and IUMRS-ICA2025.
The deadline for symposium proposals has been extended to 1 March 2025.

WMC (World Materials Conference) was initiated and hosted by the C-MRS. The first conference took place in Shenzhen, China, in 2023, attracting top materials science experts globally. The second conference was successfully held in Guangzhou, China, showcasing China's leadership in the field of materials science. As the flagship conference of C-MRS, the World Materials Conference attracts thousands of international experts every year, promoting innovation and communication in global materials science.
WMS (World Materials Summit) is an international conference jointly initiated by the C-MRS, the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS), and the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) in 2007. The first summit was held in Lisbon, Portugal, the second in Suzhou, China, and the third in Washington, USA. The summit has gradually become a major platform for the global materials science community. The 9th World Materials Summit will be held in 2025 in Guilin, China, and is expected to attract even more international scholars.
IUMRS-ICA (International Union of Materials Research Societies Internation Conference in Asia ) was initiated in 1993 by the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) in collaboration with materials research societies from Japan, South Korea, India, and other countries, proposing the idea to the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS). The first conference was held aboard the "Xiling" cruise ship between Wuhan and Chongqing. The 24th conference in 2023 was successfully held in Japan, the 25th conference in 2024 will take place in India, and the 26th conference (IUMRS-ICA 2025) will be grandly held in Guilin, China.
This conference will bring together the 3rd World Materials Conference, the 9th World Materials Summit, and the 26th IUMRS-ICA organized by C-MRS. It will be held from 14-17 October 2025, in Guilin, China, gathering top scholars and researchers from the global materials science and technology fields. The event will showcase the latest scientific achievements and technological breakthroughs, collectively advancing the future development of global materials science.
The program focuses on the latest advances in materials research at the international level by combining symposia covering the latest achievements in fundamental and interdisciplinary science with symposia addressing themes of application and technology in the field of sustainable development. The technical program of the conference consists of 30 symposia organized into topical categories in both fundamental and applied fields, including

B. Advanced Information Materials
C. Advanced Structural Materials
D. Advanced Functional Materials
E. Biomaterials and Softmaterials
F. Computational Material
G. Special symposia
Symposium names will be determined by the applicants.
SYMPOSIUM REQUIREMENTS
1. The official language of the conference will be English.
2. Each symposium should have no more than 5 chairs, with at least one foreign expert as a chair.
3. Symposium chairs should fully participate in the symposium’s academic organization and ensure their attendance or delegate someone to attend.
4. Symposium contact persons should have sufficient time to handle the organizational tasks and communications with society. After application, their contact details will be published on the website.
5. Symposium organizers should actively cooperate with the society in organizing the symposium, reviewing abstract submissions, and publishing full papers after the conference.
6. Each symposium must have at least 80 participants.
